An employee of the Pine Prairie Correctional Center is facing criminal charges of alleged malfeasance in office. The suspect is April Curtis, 39, of Eunice.
Fire Chief Chris Harrison reported to the Evangeline Parish Fire District Number 2 Board about the newest fire unit in Chataignier.

On Monday, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office shared a press release in regard to a high speed chase that has resulted in the arrest of Samuel Lee.
When the first French settlers came to what is now called Evangeline Parish, many of them came to live in different areas across the vast prairie.
