Wife says missing 71-year-old parish resident found safe

Authorities began searching Thursday afternoon for a missing 71-year-old male in the Grand Prairie area.
A press release from Evangeline Parish Sheriff Eddie Soileau reported, “On Thursday, June 20, 2019, the reporting person Betty Brown reported her husband John E. Brown (DOB 12/31/1947) was last seen at 9:30 a.m. that morning at their residence on the 6000 block of Grand Prairie Rd in Ville Platte. The reporting person stated the missing person left the residence and was heading to Tib’s Trailer in Duson.”
The press release continued as follows: “As of Thursday afternoon, Mr. Brown has not made it to Duson nor has he made it back home.”
“John E. Brown also known as “Eddie” is described as a tall male approximately 5’11, weighs about 160 lbs, partially bald with grey hair, blue eyes and a fair skin tone, and suffering from Dementia. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a peach colored shirt with a hat of some sort.”
Brown’s wife Betty posted on social media later that same day, “He found his way home. He’s safe now.
