VPPD in search of suspects wanted for armed robbery; att. second degree murder

On Thursday, Ville Platte Chief of Police Neal Lartigue reported that his department was in search of a suspect wanted for attempted second degree murder and another one wanted for armed robbery.
In a press release from the chief, it states, “On January 4, 2018 at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a report of assault in the 900 block of Reed Street, Ville Platte.”
According to the release, “Upon arrival, they learned that the victim had left the area.”
The release went on to state that officer “located him a short time later at a nearby store where he was sitting on the ground and had blood on his shirt.”
Officers “learned that he had been stabbed multiple time in an altercation on Reed Street over a cell phone and money.”
According to the press release, the “victim was transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center and then airlifted to Lafayette General Medical Center with sever to critical injuries.”
After further investigation into the incident, an arrest warrant was issued for 24-year-old Trever Travez Larnett, of 930 South Chataignier St.
Larnett is wanted for disturbing the peace by fighting and second degree murder.
The armed robbery incident occurred on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the 400 block of North Latour St.
In a press release, it states that upon arrival at the scene of the robbery, “officers learned that two black males wearing hoodies, armed with hand guns, robbed Ms. Kathy Oliver of a money bag containing cash and checks.”
According to the release, “When Ms. Oliver refused to give the suspects the money bag, one of the suspects hit her in the face with a hand gun and took the money bag when she fell to the ground.”
