(Editor’s Note: The following article is the last in a series of articles that reveal the City of Ville Platte’s budget for the current fiscal year as well as salaries for city employees. The information was released to The Gazette after filing a Public Records Request with the city.)
An overview of the City of Ville Platte’s 1975 Sales Tax Fund shows no changes from last year’s budget, however, the city is projected to spend $50,000.00 from the 1984 Sales Tax Fund for major repairs to the sewer system. This would increase the expenditures in that fund to $175,000.00 which is in excess of the $1,401,200.00 in the fund’s projected revenues.
As far as the city’s Utility Fund, a total amount of $5,348,450.00 in revenues is projected to be collected over this fiscal year. This amount is $40,950.00 more than last year’s amount of $5,307,500.00 and is the result of miscellaneous revenues.
On the expenditures side of the Utility Fund, a total of $4,823,629.00 is projected to be spent over the same time period, which is $51,079.00 more than last year’s amount of $4,772,550 because of spending in the sewer department for equipment repairs and maintenance.
