The Village of Pine Prairie, at a special meeting this Tuesday, voted to adopt a resolution calling for a special election on March 30, 2019.
According to Mayor Quint West, the ballot item if passed would levy a new sales tax and dedicate the revenues to making applications to the state bond commission.
“It’s really the same tax,” expressed the mayor because it is a continuation of an existing tax. “It’s really important to us, and I think the people will go for it.”
