The Louisiana Housing Corporation announced on Thursday that Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine has been reappointed to chair its Sustainable Housing Committee.
In a press release from the LHC, it states that Vidrine “serves as the Vice Chair for the LHC Board of Directors and was reappointed by the Senate President John A. Alario, Jr. in April 2016.”
In the release, LHC Board Chairman Lloyd “Buddy” Spiller referred to Vidrine as “a true asset to this board,” and said that “her vast knowledge in administering federal and state funds has helped us expand affordable housing opportunities for working families across the state.”
According to the LHC, “as chair of the Sustainable Housing Committee, Vidrine is responsible for creating long-term, community-driven housing solutions.”
The release states, “Vidrine, currently serving her second mayoral term, is committed to improving housing and has made it her mission to increase efforts to rid the city of blighted property,” and those efforts are something the mayor said she looks forward to continuing.
Vidrine said, “The LHC is a critical resource for affordable housing production, and the work we’re doing is improving the quality of life for so many individuals and families. I am excited about our future efforts to build sustainable communities across the state.”
