Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Deputies in search of suspect who shot a female in the face

At approximately 11:00 Friday night, deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene of a shooting that happened earlier in the night at the W.C. Read Fire Station located south of Mamou.
Evangeline Parish Sheriff Eddie Soileau released the following information regarding the incident: Deputies arrived and found an adult female shooting victim, who had been shot by an unidentified male subject.
During the initial investigation, investigators were able to identify two male subjects as persons of interest who are wanted for questioning.
A motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.
The shooting victim survived and suffered a wound to her right cheek.

Major Jeremy Mitchell with the sheriff’s office informed The Gazette Saturday that the victim, who was transported to Savoy Medical Center and then to Lafayette General, “seems to be doing okay” and added, “She is not in critical condition.”
