EPSO searches for suspect in stabbing that occurred on Hwy. 106

On Wednesday, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that it was in search of a suspect wanted for a stabbing that occurred on La. Hwy. 106 between Bayou Chicot and St. Landry.
In a release from the EPSO, it states that the incident occurred on Tuesday, May 30, 2018.
According to the release, “the complainant advised he was traveling on Hwy. 106 at approximately 11:40 p.m. when he observed a white male walking on the side of the roadway.” The release went on to state that the “complainant advised the subject requested a ride, which he obliged.”
The complainant told law enforcement officers that when he then began driving, “the subject brandished a sharp edged weapon and began stabbing and cutting the complainant.” The press release stated that according to the complainant “the subject then exited the vehicle and fled on foot,” and the complainant “returned to his residence, where he contacted 9-1-1.”
The subject in this matter has been described as a white male in his late 20’s to early 30’s and is between five and a half feet and five feet and eight inches tall.
According to the release, he was last seen wearing an orange shirt with cut sleeves and a pair of light colored blue jeans.
