After an incident of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle turned to theft, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for an alleged suspect.
“On June 30, 2019, an Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to the 500 block of Rue De Coton in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle which later resulted into a vehicle theft,” Sheriff Eddie Soileau said in a press release.
In his press release, Sheriff Soileau continued as follows: “The driver of said vehicle is identified as Darrell Glenn May of Ville Platte.”
“At this time, the owner of the vehicle has been unable to make contact with May. May was said to be in the area of Lafayette during the initial authorized use of the vehicle.”
“The vehicle is described as a 2006 GMC Pickup tan in color with a long wheel base bearing Louisiana License Plate W879902. The passenger side of the vehicle has two dents, and there is also a dent on the front and rear bumper.”
“The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance in locating Darrell Glenn May. A warrant of arrest has also been issued on May for theft of a motor vehicle by 13th Judicial District Judge Gary Ortego.”
If anyone has any information or comes into contact with May is asked to contact the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division at 337-363-2161. All callers will remain anonymous.
