EPSO investigates home invasion on Old Basile Highway

An alleged home invasion that occurred Monday morning in the Basile area on Old Basile Highway has resulted in an investigation by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Once the initial investigation was completed, Sheriff Eddie Soileau provided details to shed some light on the incident. “The suspects allegedly broke into a home, restrained the home owner with an extension cord, and stole several items to include two televisions and a firearm,” the sheriff said in a press release.
The release continued, “Deputies say the suspects may be driving a silver/light colored vehicle. The make and model are unknown as of this time, but is possibly a Sports car.
One suspect is said to have been a black male wearing a t-shirt and baseball cap. The victim said there was also a second suspect believed to be a black male that he didn’t physically see but was able to hear his voice. No arrests have been made.”
