School board member Ellis Guillory arrested in Calcasieu Parish for possession of drugs

An Evangeline Parish School Board member was arrested this past weekend on drug charges inSulphur.
Ellis Guillory, of Ville Platte, was booked in the Calcasieu Parish Jail on charges of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of marijuana, illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of drugs and possession of drugs.
According to KATC, the 57-year-old who holds the District 12 seat on the school board was arrested after “a deputy doing a foot patrol in the area noticed Guillory sitting in his car for some time.”
The TV station reported that “when Guillory saw the deputy he got out of the car and began walking toward the nightclub.”
The report went on to say that “the deputy stopped him and asked what he was doing.”
According to KATC, “a search allegedly turned up a baggie of pot in his pocket, and a baggie of crack cocaine in his sock,” and he also “allegedly had a couple of pills in his pocket.”
A firearm was also found in his vehicle next to the driver’s side seat.
Since the incident, Guillory has been released from jail on a $5,000.00 bond.
