(Editor’s Note: The following article is the first in a series of articles that will reveal the City of Ville Platte’s budget for the current fiscal year as well as salaries for city employees. The information was released to The Gazette after filing a Public Records Request with the city.)
The City of Ville Platte has released its budget for the current fiscal year along with the Capital Outlay Budget request showing all funds for the year ending June 30, 2020.
An overview of the schedule of revenues and expenditures/expenses across all funds show a projected actual result of total revenues at year end in the amount of $13,410,051.00, which is an increase of the $13,363,905.00 contained in the last adopted budget, and a projected actual result of total expenditures at year end in the amount of $13,831,855.00, which is an increase of the $13,785,709.00 contained in the last adopted budget.
The Capital Outlay Budget contains the following:
$20,000.00 for city hall air conditioners financed through general fund revenues.
$37,500.00 for a fire truck financed through a Plains Energy grant.
$220,000.00 for sidewalk improvements financed through a $170,000.00 federal grant and a $50,000.00 state grant.
$1,218,667.00 for street infrastructure financed through state grant funds of $914,000.00 and a 25 percent city match of $304,667.00.
$50,000.00 for street lights, street signs, and stop signs financed through general fund revenues.
$11,115.00 for an entrance project financed through a Louisiana Government Assistance Program (LGAP) state grant.
$42,000.00 for street cameras financed through an LGAP state grant of $17,000.00 and a State Farm grant of $25,000.00.
$5,000.00 for trash cans financed through a Keep Louisiana Beautiful grant.
$8,975.00 for Northside Park maintenance vehicle financed through general fund revenues.
$500,000.00 for a parks project financed through state grant funds of $375,000.00 and a 25 percent city match of $125,000.00.
The total capital outlay paid by the general fund is $2,113,257.00.
