VIDRINE - Chris Guillory has announced that he will run for Evangeline Parish Tax Assessor. The election for Tax Assessor will be held in October 2019.
“I’ve always been proud of the parish and community where I was raised. I am excited at the chance to make Evangeline Parish a better place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Guillory. ‘This is the right time to stand up and seize the opportunity to serve the people of Evangeline Parish.”
Chris graduated from Vidrine High School in 1994, and then attended McNeese State University. After earning his bachelor’s degree in education, he and his wife returned home to work and raise their family. Chris was a high school teacher and coach for nearly sixteen years. The vast majority of those years were spent at Vidrine and Pine Prairie High School. He and his wife were also small business owners in Evangeline Parish.
“As Tax Assessor I want to work with local, state, and federal officials, as well as business leaders to bring economic growth to Evangeline Parish. Evangeline Parish has all the tools to become a regional economic engine, we just need to capitalize on our assets,” added Guillory.
“I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working diligently to bring economic growth to Evangeline,” said Guillory. “We will be running a parish-wide campaign, leaving no stone unturned.”
Chris will draw on life-long relationships and have an open-door policy as Tax Assessor in order to set and accomplish both short and long-term goals for Evangeline Parish. He has pledged to work with anyone who shares his dream of fostering economic growth for Evangeline Parish.
As a child his parent’s instilled Christian values in him, and he will serve Evangeline Parish with those same core values. He is married to Jhanae Young Guillory. They have four children together, three daughters and a son. Chris and Jhanae are both lifelong residents of Evangeline Parish. They currently reside in Vidrine.
Please join Chris in making the parish a better place to live, work, and raise our families! Chris would like to wish everyone a very happy and blessed holiday season.
