In an effort to do my part and help improve this city that I have lived in my entire life, I announce my candidacy for City Council, District A. I am Faye Lemoine, married to Tedd Lemoine for 47 years. Tedd and I have lived in Shady Acres Subdivision our entire married lives. We are the parents of two children, Laurie Daire, married to Joey Daire, and Erick Lemoine. We are the grandparents of two, step grandparents of four, and the great grandparents of one and step great grandparents of two.
I am a 1967 graduate of Ville Platte High School. I have a BA in Education from McNeese State University and a Masters in Supervision from LSU. Education has been my life-long career. I retired from the Evangeline Parish School Board after 34 years of service; however, I have continued to work on a part-time basis as a tutor at Sacred Heart Elementary for the past nine years. As a supervisor for the Evangeline Parish School Board, my duties included writing federal grants, supervising the budgets, and all of the reporting. This experience has given me many tools that will help me serve this city.
My desire to run for this office comes from the love of this city and the need to help improve it any way I can. I want to be part of the new initiative to attract businesses to our community. I look forward to working with Acadiana One, the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, the Keep Evangeline Clean Campaign and of course the Evangeline Parish Police Jury. If we as a city work together we can make this a place we will continue to be proud to call home.
If you think that I can help this city, then please support and vote for me.
