I, Brian Ardoin, a lifelong resident of Evangeline Parish, formally announce my intent to run for the office of Evangeline Parish Sheriff. As a long-time law enforcement professional, I have practical experience at every level of our Criminal Justice system to lead, inspire, and develop the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office. As a Louisiana State Trooper, I have trained various troopers in use of force tactics; as an academic I have taught college students the fundamentals of our United States Criminal Justice System; and as a United States Marine, I have been certified as an Anti-Terrorism Officer. I have demonstrated a true dedication to public service, being integral in establishing and managing programs for our youth and initiatives that make Evangeline Parish’s residents safer, including establishing a program that allowed at-risk youth to a first-hand visit of the Angola Penitentiary, which allowed them an opportunity to talk to inmates who made the wrong choices in life. This was an effort to deter young men and women from making the same bad choices. Additionally, I co-developed a non-profit organization designed to develop housing to elderly, programs for the youth, and food/resources for needy families.
As Sheriff of Evangeline Parish, I will work to strengthen relationships with the parish’s various cities and towns and manage taxpayers’ money wisely to ensure our parish continues to build a department that will provide the highest level of public safety to the residents of Evangeline Parish.
There is a lot that has changed in policing over the years. Every community should have the opportunity to select a candidate that is not only a business professional, but an experienced practitioner and leader. Our community deserves both, one who understands the day-to-day business operations of an organization and someone who has worked in courts, corrections, and policing for nearly 20-years. A God-fearing leader, who has aspired to run for the honorable position of sheriff for many years but has prayed and listened before acting. A leader that wants to ensure that this is God’s plan and not only his own aspirations. Elect me, Brian Ardoin as your next Sheriff of Evangeline Parish.
I am a native of Pine Prairie and a high school graduate of Pine Prairie High School. I am a 21-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps and have been married to my wife, a Vidrine Elementary 3rd grade teacher, Katrina Allen Ardoin for 18-years. We have four sons, Brian (BJ), Bryce, Braxton, and Benjamin. I am a Christian and church deacon in the Ville Platte community. I am also a graduate of the prestigious Louisiana State Police Academy, McNeese State University, and obtained a Master of Science Degree from Southern University A & M in Criminal Justice Administration with a concentration in Criminal Investigation. Currently, I am the Interim-Coordinator of Louisiana State University-Eunice, Public Protection and Safety Section, where I am responsible for the coordination of the Criminal Justice, Fire Science, and Forensic Science Programs. I am a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice and Science-International Organization, and Treasurer of a nonprofit organization, Revelation Outreach, Incorporated, which provides temporary community resources to economically challenged families in their time of need. I am the creator and owner of a top-rated driver’s education academy, TOP COP Driving Academy, which provides employment to our parish residents and a premium driver’s education to our Evangeline Parish adults and children. I will bring honor, integrity, courage, police experience, and have a business mind set if you elect me as your next sheriff of Evangeline Parish.
