Fathers tend to leave notes of encouragement and hope for their sons when they are going through a tough time. One local father, however, is taking a different spin on this approach and is stringing together musical notes of hope for his 19-year-old son who has a brain tumor.

As Americans we are called to give of ourselves and to help our fellow countrymen when they are in need. One Ville Platte native has exemplified this idea from serving in the jungles of Vietnam to serving the Lamb of God as a naval chaplain.

Hunting changes made for the 2017-2018 seasons

There have been several changes made this year that will affect duck hunters across Louisiana.
One of those changes made has been a modification to teal season, which was previously during the last three weekends of September.

Local 4-H students compete in recent Horse Shows

VPPD arrests one for using counterfeit money

On July 18, 2017, the Ville Platte Police Department made two arrests.
The first involved the use of counterfeit money at a local business on East Main Street.
