In one of the wildest games in Sacred Heart history, the Trojans gave every ounce of energy and pride in a heartbreaking loss to Catholic of Pointe Coupee at Soileau-Landry field by a score of 55-51. Both teams combined for almost 1,100 yards of total offense in the game.
Ville Platte High came into this district game Friday night like giants after beating division foes Port Barre and Pine Prairie in consecutive weeks. Livonia came into the game as royals of Class 2A. The Wildcats are state runners-up from a year ago and are ranked first in the current polls.
The Mamou Demons took their 1-6 record on the road to Vinton High School in hopes of adding a second win of the season. It was not to be for Mamou, as the Lions amassed 512 total yards on offense in a 40-19 victory. The loss now puts the Demon record at 1-7 overall and 0-3 in district.
