People who have been protesting this month on Main Street in front of Sacred Heart School plan to meet at the Northside Civic Center Monday, May 25, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss issues involved and possible solutions.
First Student, the company that handles bus transportation for the Evangeline Parish school system, got an earful Wednesday night, May 20, when a parent and school board member Wanda Skinner brought up complaints about a bus driver.

A large crowd gathered at the Northside Civic Center Monday, May 25, to hear new developments in the efforts pf parents of Sacred Heart School students and alumni to remove Principal Diane Fontenot.

Mamou police report four recent arrests

The Mamou Police Department reported four recent bookings into the town jail. Arrested were the following persons:
•Chad Rideaux, Rue Jolie Blonde, Apt. 214, Mamou, was charged May 23, with simple battery. Rideaux bonded out of jail .

Fontenot earns scholarship from LHC

The Louisiana Housing Council made its annual scholarship presentation in Baton Rouge earlier this month. Among the recipients was Ville Platte’s Tyler Fontenot, one of only 12 total recipients of this year’s scholarships.
