Turkey Creek Mayor Heather Cloud has filed suit challenging the election results in which she lost re-election to her opponent, Bert Keith Campbell, by a vote of 110 to 106. Cloud’s suit claims that Campbell paid residents for their votes and included several affidavits in the suit to prove her case.

LAFAYETTE - United States Attorney Stephanie A. Finley announced that a Ville Platte man was sentenced Friday, November 14, to 102 months in prison for the armed robbery of more than $11,000 from a truck stop and casino in St. Landry Parish.

Funeral services will be held for Florence Ann Doucet Gallow, 60, of Eunice, at Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 22. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Baptist Church Cemetery in Chataignier.
