Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue reported two men have been arrested for attempted second degree murder in the shooting of Franco Doucet on East Beech Street December 17. Lartigue stated that two men have been arrested. A warrant of arrest was issued on December 20, on the following suspects:
Judge Thomas Fuselier dismissed, on Thursday, December 18, the challenge to Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue’s qualifications to run for chief of police, based on his place of residence, brought by Linton Fontenot and Glenn Leleux, who ran against Lartigue for chief of police in this year’s elections.

Trojans have no answer in loss to Northwood

Funeral services were held for Roy Ledoux Fontenot, 97, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 18. Burial followed in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery.
