Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs collect easy wins

The district 5-3A season continued in full force Tuesday night for both the Ville Platte Bulldogs and the Lady Bulldogs, as they hosted Church Point High School. The Lady Bulldogs used a suffocating defense and an opportunistic offense to overpower the Lady Bears 74-28.

Early registration for mamou mardi gras run open

Early registration has begun at the Mamou police station for the Mamou children’s Mardi Gras run that will take place Sunday, February 15.
Registration on the day of the run will be from 7 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. at the skating rink. The entry fee is $10 per child, up to $25 per family.

Hoops and hijinks are coming to Ville Platte on Wednesday, February 11, when our very own local challengers, Team United, take on the Harlem Ambassadors in a comedy basketball show the whole family will enjoy. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. at Ville Platte High School.

Funeral services will be held for Michael James Allen, 62, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 31. Burial will follow in the Pine Claire Cemetery.
