A Reddell woman, who was walking on Highway 13 Friday morning is dead after being struck by a vehicle near Reddell.

Six new queens and three kings were selected on Saturday, March 21, at the 2015 Boggy Bayou Youth Pageant held at the fairgrounds. They will be presented at the Queen’s Pageant set for Saturday, April 11, during the 31st Boggy Bayou Festival in Pine Prairie.

Stephen Lafleur

Stephen Lafleur, who was wanted by Mamou police for allegedly beating a woman with a gun and shooting at her vehicle on Monday, has turned himself in. Lafleur’s alleged victim reported that her daughter was at the scene when the incident occurred and Mamou police began searching for him.

Coming into Tuesday’s game against Opelousas Catholic, the Sacred Heart Trojans were riding a 12 game winning streak. The Trojans knew that it would take a total team effort to defeat 2A powerhouse Opelousas Catholic to continue that streak.

A tight game became a runaway for the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans on Tuesday afternoon in Eunice. The Lady Trojans blew open a 4-2 game, scoring nine runs in the top of the seventh, to take a 13-5 win over the St. Ed’s Lady Blue Jays.
