After the last two playoff games, the Ville Platte Lady Bulldogs knew in order to win a state championship one aspect of their game must change; shooting percentage. Despite winning in the regional and quarter-final rounds, the Lady Bulldogs found their shots did not stroke the bottom of the net at times.

The Ville Platte Volunteer Fire Department held its Annual Awards Night in February. The awards night is something held yearly to honor the top volunteer and paid firefighters. Awards were given to the top 10 volunteer firefighters with the most calls for 2014 and to the top paid firefighter with the most off-duty calls for 2014.
