Ville Platte native, Billi Matte Rider, faces 372 counts of possession of CDS schedule II less than two grams in Rapides Parish. She was arrested on May 1.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Mrs. Betty Fontenot Wiggins, 94, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m.
